Introduction

In the later part of the 1970's, business leaders in Mesa, Arizona, began informal discussions about how they could contribute to the morale and well-being of the police officers and fire fighters who performed as heroes in the community every day, protecting and serving the citizens of Mesa. In early 1978, the group was formally established as the Mesa Public Safety Foundation.

The Foundation has continually assisted the Public Safety sector by providing both financial and moral support to the police and fire personnel that protect and serve the citizens of Mesa, and the surrounding communities. Over its more than 30 years of existence, the Foundation has provided financial assistance to officers, fire fighters, and other public safety personnel by replacing personal items that have been lost or damaged in the course of performing their duties.

The Foundation has also funded special programs and purchased essential equipment that the respective department budgets were unable to satisfy.The Mesa Public Safety Foundation is a 501(C)3 organization, which relies on donations from individuals and organizations. Contributions may be deducted as charitable donations for tax purposes.
